About Miss Dana

Dana has Nebraska roots, but attended the University of Kansas for her education. She has lived in Overland Park ever since and is now proud to call Kansas City home.

Dancing and performing has been a part of Dana’s entire life. She started dancing at 3 years old, started teaching at 14, and has partnered with numerous dance studios and theater companies throughout the Kansas City metro and across the country. She now has more than 25 years in the dance/theater industry. In addition to being a dance educator, she’s also a choreographer, producer, adjudicator, team coach, and a personal mentor. Much of her local work could be seen at KC SuperStar, the Plaza Lighting Ceremony, The Theatre in the Park, and CYT. Many of her former students can be seen on Broadway, America’s Got Talent, American Idol, Disney shows and cruise ships, Las Vegas shows, off-broadway tours, and many collegiate and professional dance teams, such as KU, K-State, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dana has a passion for teaching, and brings a high level of fun, energy, spirit, and inspiration to everything she does. Her company (3D Studio) helps students understand the connection of having a Dream, the importance of Dedication, to earn their Debut.

BUT what she enjoys the most is helping students understand that it’s about more than just dance steps. 

Being a GOOD Person is far more important than being a GOOD Performer.  The Person is always greater than the Performance.
